Forums provide opportunity MTS Trolley
to review regional fare strategies

SANDAG will host five open house forums to review possible changes to regional transit fare strategies. Each open house will be held in locations throughout the region from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to provide opportunities for interested residents to participate. Forums will be held:

The forums will provide residents the opportunity to review possible changes to the regional fare strategies, ask questions, and offer comments. Features of the possible changes include:

  • Reducing the number of fare products and different pricing levels
  • Moving toward a unified fare structure for Metropolitan Transit System and North County Transit District
  • Improving convenience and ease of use by introducing the Compass Card (a reusable “smart card” that can be used to pay all types of fares)
