Planning for the region's future is underway at public workshops being held in locations throughout the San Diego region. The Regional Comprehensive Plan public workshops serve as a forum for residents and elected officials to work together to help plan for the future.
The workshops give residents the opportunity to play "Visionary," a game where small groups explore challenges and opportunities in various subject areas that are relevant to planning for the region's future. The groups then propose actions to resolve critical regional issues on topics such as housing, the environment, transportation, our international border and neighboring counties, urban design, and the economy.
Workshop attendees also use interactive technology to provide meaningful input on a vision and core values for the San Diego region. The first workshop was held last month in Escondido. Participants claimed it was an interesting and challenging opportunity to help make decisions that will affect the future of our region.
