Congratulations to the winners of the SANDAG SchoolPool Fall 2003 contest! Schools in the San Diego region were challenged to complete applications for students to “pool to their school.” The winning elementary schools are: Glen View Elementary, Capri Elementary, San Luis Rey Elementary, Conway Elementary, Rose Elementary, Felicita Elementary, St. Patrick's Elementary; L. R. Green Elementary, Skyline Elementary, South Oceanside Elementary, Shoal Creek Elementary, Oscar Palmquist, Ivy Ranch Elementary and Santa Margarita. The winning middle and high schools are: High Tech High School, Roosevelt Middle School, Steele Canyon High School, Guajome Park Academy, and Olive E. Pierce Middle School.
SANDAG’s SchoolPool program uses a personalized matching program to bring together students who live in the same neighborhood, attend the same school, and whose parents are willing to share the driving duties. It also provides families with the names and phone numbers of others they can call on for emergency transportation. When two or more people share a ride, it reduces traffic congestion on the streets and in front of schools. This improves safety for the students and means less time waiting in a line of cars.
Participants enrolled in the SchoolPool Program are eligible to win monthly drawings of family gift packs provided by Terry Godfrey Magician, Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza, SONY, San Diego Chargers, Metropolitan Transportation System, Birch Aquarium, Fern Street Circus, San Diego Coaster Company, Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, SeaWorld, and SCORE! Learning Centers.
To sign up, call the SchoolPool coordinator at RideLink today at 1-800-COMMUTE (choose option 3) or fill out a SchoolPool Ridematch Application on-line.
