Navigating by bicycle is
getting a lot easier
Bike to Work Day is May 18, 2007

The highly-anticipated San Diego Region Bike Map will be released this month, and will provide bicyclists with a lightweight, waterproof, and tear-resistant tool to plan their routes.

The map has undergone a comprehensive overhaul to encourage commuters to choose bicycling as an alternative to driving alone. Commuters will benefit from new features including bike locker and bike shop locations, terrain shading, and bicycle safety information. The map also includes security tips, and explains how to take a bike onto public transit.

RideLink encourages bicycling as a commuting alternative that increases transportation options, decreases congestion, and improves the quality of life — especially for those who choose to bike to work. Many partnerships allowed RideLink to bring this newly renovated map to the region, including support from Arjobex Paper; Adams Avenue Bicycles; Black Mountain Bicycles; Flexcar; REI; and the San Diego Convention and Visitor's Bureau.

For more information or to request a bike map, call 1-800-COMMUTE, option 3, or visit www.RideLink.org. Starting in March 2007, commuters should dial 5-1-1 to reach RideLink. Don’t forget — Bike to Work Day is May 18, 2007.
