Each year, local jurisdictions collect traffic count data on significant roadways and Caltrans collects similar information on state freeways and highways. SANDAG compiles this information to generate Average Daily Traffic Counts (ADT), which are two-way, 24-hour daily volumes (shown in thousands of vehicles).
The tables show roadway descriptions and five-year (1999 2003) volumes, presented alphabetically by jurisdiction. The percent change in volumes between 2002 and 2003 also is shown. If counts were not made in a particular year, the previous year’s count will be shown along with an “N”. An “E” will appear by the volume if the traffic count was estimated. A “V” indicates that the street did not permit through traffic for that year.
