RideLink program good medicine vanpool
for Sharp hospital

SHARP Healthcare launched an innovative recruitment tool to attract new nurses from Riverside County to work at Sharp Memorial hospital. In 2005, SHARP established a company-sponsored vanpool program to give nurses free rides to and from work. The vanpools run seven days per week for both morning and evening shifts and a Guaranteed Ride Home program is provided around the clock. The Guaranteed Ride Home program provides a taxi or rental car (depending on distance traveled) in case of an emergency.

Currently, 70 employees are riding in the vanpool program with more to come as SHARP looks at expanding the program.

In addition to SHARP Hospitals, many private companies, public organizations, local federal agencies and local state agencies in the San Diego region are helping their employees save money and enjoy a less stressful commute with a variety of employer-sponsored commuter programs.

To get more information on how you can establish a transportation benefits program or to set up a meeting with a RideLink Employer Services representative, dial 511 from any phone and say RideLink when prompted or e-mail us at survivethedrive@sandag.org.
