511 connects commuters to traffic, transit, and travel info
More and more people are dialing or clicking on 511 since the free service's public launch on February 21, 2007. After three months in operation, 511 averages 17,000 telephone calls and 400,000 Web site hits per week.

The SANDAG Service Bureau has thrived since its launch in mid-2005, providing GIS analysis and mapping, demographic and economic studies, transportation modeling and analysis.

Public safety spending up
Law enforcement constitutes the largest proportion of the overall, annual public safety budget in the region. The public safety budget includes expenditures for corrections, prosecution, probation, public defense, court-related, and law enforcement.

SANDAG receives $450,000 from California Energy Commission
The California Energy Commission recently awarded $450,000 to SANDAG to develop analytical tools and research that focus on the relationship between land use, transportation, and energy planning.
