More transportation funding
coming our way I-15 Managed Lanes

The passage of the transportation infrastructure bonds last year provides a much-needed infusion of funding for our region. With Proposition 1B — the Highway Safety, Traffic Reduction, Air Quality, and Port Security Bond Act of 2006 — nearly $20 billion dollars will be distributed statewide.

With local TransNet dollars in place to match the new state funding, the San Diego region is well-positioned to compete — and the ball is already rolling. SANDAG will receive $432 million from the California Transportation Commission as part of the competitive $4.5 billion Corridor Mobility Improvement Account for  the Interstate 15 Managed Lanes and High Occupancy Vehicle Lanes on Interstate 805 near the Sorrento Mesa employment center.

Leveraging these dollars with funding from TransNet allows SANDAG and Caltrans to keep the momentum going on transportation construction.
