NCTD touts accomplishments
in annual report NCTD Breeze

2006 marked North County Transit District’s (NCTD) 30th year of moving people in North County San Diego. And what a year of opportunity it was! The BREEZE Bus team improved schedules and expanded coverage in Escondido, Oceanside, and Vista. The COASTER welcomed a new contract operator while attracting an unprecedented number of passengers in the summer months. The SPRINTER light rail vehicles arrived from Germany, and nearly 70 percent of track construction was completed as the late 2007 start date for the new rail line quickly approaches. In the midst of these accomplishments, NCTD managed to move nearly 12 million passengers.

Inside the report, readers will find a look back at the year’s highlights, major NCTD accomplishments, and a look ahead to an exciting time of new opportunities. 2006 was a momentous year for the district, but the best is yet to come.
