Make transit your ECO Pass
newest employee benefit!

Employers who make transit their newest employee benefit may be eligible for a discount when participating in the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) ECO Pass program. This program is for businesses with 25 or more employees who purchase MTS Bus and Trolley monthly passes and would be interested in switching to an annual prepaid contract to save money. The ECO Pass Program offers discounts on monthly passes ranging from 10% to 25% according to a tiered-discount structure, which is based on the annual volume of passes used. Buy more, save more!

As an introduction to acquaint employees with transit, MTS offers a three-month pilot ECO Pass Program that enables employers to get a better idea of employee participation numbers before entering into a 12-month program. Today’s employers are taking advantage of federal tax laws that give employees valuable new benefits while offering tax savings to businesses. The federal tax code provides incentives for employers to offer commuter benefits to employees. Under tax law employers may receive up to $115 pre-tax dollars per month, per employee for transit passes.
